Brief description of the
institution
Before 1950 it used to be the Monastery of Carmelite
Nuns Named after the divine Heart of Jesus, where the sisters operated
an orphanage, kindergarten and day-care centre. The complex of the
single -floor building with pavilion situated on a huge area of
3.5 ha with a lovely large internal garden
and courtyard provides real home for its some 150 residents.
Since 2001 the home operates also as a Catholic
Social Methodology Institute.
Accommodation
In rooms for 1-2 and 3-4 persons.
The rooms for the sick people have 2 or 4 beds.
Nursing
The home is equipped also to with the special facilities
needed to nurse Alzheimer patients and elderly people
suffering from senile insanity. The Alzheimer disease
has been spreading in Hungary also and there is growing demand in
special nursing homes especially for patients in the final stage
of the disease. In the home we provide safe conditions for the people
entrusted to us. It is a novelty, that the winter
garden with fishes, birds, beautiful plants offer a lovely
and peaceful environment to our residents. The safe promenade garden
had bee constructed in conformity to international practice.
Holy mass
There are holy masses every Sunday in the chapel
of the home . As the home is open not only for Catholic patients
but also for other believers so we have church service for Lutherans
(every Tuesday) and Calvinists (first Sunday every month) as well.
Access to the institution
The settlement Dabas-Gyón is situated along highway
50, 45 km from Budapest in the direction of Kecskemét. You have
to turn right from the highway (Vasút utca) to reach the village.
The home is at the end of a small by-street (Zárda köz). The village
can be reached by train from Budapest, Western Railway Station on
the line Lajosmizse-Kecskemét. The bus starting in Budapest from
Népstadion (People's Stadium ) or Határ will take you to Dabas-Gyón.
The home is situated at a distance of about 1 km from both stations.
Visiting time
The institution is open and visitors can enter at
any time. We can provide accommodation for visitors who want to
spend several times here.
